Fri. and Sat. evenings (only) at 8 pm.  Performed, in an outdoor theatre, on the grounds of Helen Keller’s Birthplace, this award-winning play recalls the childhood of the deaf-blind child, who became known as “America’s First Lady of Courage”, and her gifted teacher, Anne Sullivan.

Shoals Spirit of Freedom Celebration

 

July 4, 2017: Shoals Spirit of Freedom Celebration, McFarland Park, Florence.  Approx. start time 5 p.m., fireworks at dark.  Celebrate Independence Day in the Shoals! Live, nationally-known musicians perform all day, food vendors are onsite, and activities for the entire family will all be at the park throughout the day.  The Independence Day Celebration culminates with one of the largest fireworks shows in the Southeast.
